Brain Cake  ·  For a neuroscientist's or brainiac's birthday, make a brain cake. This is advanced. Press a 3-inch layer of Cake-Shaping Clay into the bottom of round, deep pan. Shape the clay to look like the inverse of a brain. It need not include all of the small indentations shown; those are made using icing. Spray the clay and pan with cooking spray, and add the cake batter. Bake until done, loosen the cake from the edges of the clay, and either invert the pan or remove outside clay segments to access the cake. Frost the cake by filling an icing bag with the frosting but not putting an icing tip on the adapter, such that a large circular frosting stream will come out of the bag. Make the lines on the bottom part of the brain by using a fork.
